Who we are
The Pearly Queen Theatre exists to champion fearless voices and bold storytelling in the heart of the East End.
Taking residence above The Bow Bells Pub — an iconic, independent, family-run Cockney boozer with over 150 years of history — our 50-seat black box theatre is the newest chapter in a building that has always brought people together. From match-day crowds to drag nights, The Bow Bells has long celebrated the grit, humour, and diversity of Bow.
Now, above that noise and laughter, something new rises.
We present theatre, stand-up comedy, live music, and special events in an intimate space where nothing is hidden and every breath is shared. We collaborate with artists to bring their work to the stage, offering space for one-off productions, short runs, workshops, and rehearsals — a place to experiment, develop, and take risks.
Rooted in the East End’s tradition of resilience and reinvention, we honour the past while shaping what comes next. The Pearly Queen Theatre is a bold, inclusive cultural home — built for connection, creativity, and stories that refuse to be quiet
ACCESIBILITY: Please note our theatre is tucked upstairs in a historic building above the iconic Bow Bells Pub and is accessed by stairs only. We are sorry that step-free access isn't available.
